Description
NEW YORK ASTER
Asters are very valuable beneficial plants for wildlife, larval host to more than 100 species of butterflies and moths including the Pearl Crescent and Checkerspot. Asters are also an important late season nectar and pollen source for pollinators and the migrating Monarch butterfly. Pinching back early in the season promotes a smaller, bushier plant while still producing a spectacular floral display.
