Few Butterfly Gingers are full triple threats : Beautiful flowers, strong and sweet fragrance, and beautiful foliage. The ‘Kahili’ ginger is one great exception. The plants have wide waxy and elegant leaves and produce a long spike of beautiful yellow flowers that have an amazing fragrance. Despite its reputation as a noxious weed in some parts of the world it is actually one of the slower growing Butterfly Gingers in the southern US. It does well here but is far from a pest!!!
Grows to 5 feet in medium sun. Hardy in Zone 8 and above.
