Well the cloud forest is still going strong.... my Racinaea pendulispica inflo continues to develop....I have no idea when it will decide its mature and actually open up....meanwhile the Racinaea crispa has a bloom spike coming out!!!! Its that yellow feathery thing in the center

Good growing Gina! I am impressed also. I have not tried growing R. crispa as I have heard it is not a easy one to grow.

Scott, I think the only thing that makes it hard here in Florida is summertime intense heat. That's why I decided to make these Racinae houseplants.
BirdRock Tropicals has a brand new first release hybrid called 'Seuss' for sale...its ON SALE for $55 (normally $75) too rich for my blood. Check it out on their website its pretty cool.
Once I get my sun room painted and get everything situated in there again I am going to make a real terrarium and hopefully will have these 3 Racinaea and some cool to warm growing orchid species in there that I also failed with the first time in the greenhouse due to their lack of heat tolerance

It has pups too....I think its is putting all its energy into developing this inflorescence at the moment but after that I hope the pups grow quick it'd be cool to get a clump. I am almost....ALMOST finished painting the sunroom and when I get all the furniture back together the new terrarium/vivarium project can really get started!

If you look really close, you can see the teeny orange true flowers starting to peek out between the bracts at the base of R. crispa

And the R. pendulispica is starting to have an orange flush over the yellow on its bracts

So its been a while since I updated my Racinaeas. Since Mama Crispa bloomed, I thought she had put out 2 pups. But today I was trimming back some of her dying foliage and found a THIRD! So I have 3 little crisps to look forward to!

And the R. pendulaspica that bloomed so nicely has 2 pups at the base!

I'll have to cut its old bloom spike off soon, its finally starting to deteriorate and dry up, and has lost its color, but it lasted an exceptionally long time

So I guess my experiment in Houseplant Habitat #1 vertical cloud forest broms is a success!

I want the one called 'Dr. Zeuss' but the only source I can find is Bird Rock and its $55 before the potential extra $50 for phyto and shipping and handling so I guess I will not be getting it any time seen. I find them to be very interesting, they are so small.

Haven;t been here in Broms for a while because, well, because nothing has really been going on with my broms! But I did make a score, I got a R. crispa 'Red Form' to pair with my R. crispa 'Green Form'

The Red is the form I had years ago that I accidentally snuffed and I am real glad to get one back
