Approximately 49 days to harvest. Earlier variety than 'Detroit Dark Red'. These were bred to produce roots of different sizes, baby beets or full-sized, all season long. The shape is slightly elongated and smooth. The green tops are prolific and are disease resistant. Great for cooked greens.

Chicago Red was a pleasant surprise. Good yield, uniform and decent table fare. Smaller than normal but grows well. Compares well with Early Wonder.
