Odyssey Resorts buys Lutsen Sea Villas on North Shore

Odyssey Resorts announced this week that it’s added the Lutsen Sea Villas to its lineup.

The villas are a collection of over 50 one and two-story townhomes, which are located steps away from Lake Superior. With this announcement, Odyssey now operates seven resorts along the North Shore, according to a news release.

As part of the announcement, Odyssey announced that Jake Brown was named the new general manager of the Lutsen Sea Villas. He previously worked as Lutsen Resort’s maintenance director, the release said.

The villas are located 5 five miles west of Lutsen and are on a half-mile stretch of shoreline, which provides panoramic views of Lake Superior. Each townhome has a private deck and a wood burning fireplace, the release said.

The villas were constructed in 1969, with additional units built in 1972 and 1973. George Nelson Jr., who helped Lutsen Mountains, the Lutsen 99er mountain bike race and other North Shore activities, first developed the property, the release noted.

Adding this iconic destination to our family of properties will allow us to enhance the options and amenities we can offer to our guests,” Kirk Schultz, CEO of Odyssey Resorts, said in the release. “Everything guests have loved about the Lutsen Sea Villas for generations will be enhanced by the breadth and depth of Odyssey’s hospitality and North Shore experiences.”
