The actress, 36, is set to make her debut behind the camera with All We Had, an adaptation of Annie Weatherwax’s novel of the same name. Written by The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone, All We Had focuses on a single mother (Holmes) who struggles to provide for her teenage daughter (played by Lovie Findlay). “Katie has such a clear vision for the book’s irreverent, original mother-daughter relationship. Her passion for the material, along with Josh Boone’s ability to tell stories grounded in the comedy and drama of every day, will truly bring these characters to life,” producer Jane Rosenthal said in a statement last year when the news was first announced. While no release date for the film has been set just yet, Holmes is busy with production in New York. And set photos of the actress in character as Rita Carmichael arrived online this week, showing Holmes’ dressed-down look.
