Official: Hera Björk Will Represent Iceland at Eurovision 2024 With “Scared of Heights”

On the 2nd of March 2024, Iceland held its national final for Eurovision 2024: “Söngvakeppnin 2024”.

5 artists performed the songs, and the winner of the super-final was Hera Björk with “Scared of Heights

However, not everything went smoothly.
Some stakeholders in the Icelandic music industry called to boycott Eurovision 2024 participation, following their will to make Israel not participating in the contest.

Hera Björk has openly shared a clear message: In case of winning “Söngvakeppnin 2024”, she will represent the country in Malmö.

Along the way, the EBU has justified and defended Israel’s participation at Eurovision 2024. Icelandic broadcaster RÚV has decided to postpone the decision regarding Eurovision 2024 participation.

Hera is one of the well known singers in Iceland.
She previously represented Iceland at Eurovision 2010 with the song “Je Ne Sais Quoi”

The semi-finals will be held on the 7th and 9th of May 2024, and the grand final will be held on the 11th of May 2024.
