Rudbeckia laciniata var. ampla, commonly known as the Rocky Mountain Cutleaf Coneflower, is a deciduous herbaceous perennial with an upright habit. Rudbeckia laciniata var. ampla is native to North America, to the west of the Great Plains. In its native habitat it grows along streams and in open wet meadows. Its yellow flowers are attractive to pollinating insects. Its vigorous roots enable this plant to spread vegetatively. Rudbeckia laciniata var. ampla may be used as part of a prairie type planting scheme. This plant may be lifted and dived during its dormant season.
