As soon as possible after receiving the Triteleia Laxa bulbs they can be planted in the garden, a flower pot or in a planter. If not they must be kept in a frost-free area. Bulbs planted in a flower pot are not usually frost resistant. Plant the bulbs about 10 cm deep with a planting distance of approximately 5 cm. Loosen the soil well and plant the bulbs with the point facing upwards. Refill the planting hole with soil. Triteleia Laxa grows best in nutritious, well-drained soil in a full sun or a partially shaded area. Triteleia Iaxa in the garden The more Triteleia Laxa bulbs you plant the greater the reward of these beautifully coloured flowers. Plant them in groups of at least 15 bulbs, or divide 30 or more evenly in the garden border or flower bed. As the leaves of this small bulbous plant occupy very little space, they are ideal to plant between other perennials. Combine Triteleia Laxa for example with columbines or with campanulas (Campanula)
Care
The Triteleia Laxa bulbs can remain in the same spot for years. Deadhead the faded flowers and this will direct the energy back into the bulb. After flowering, leave the foliage to die down naturally and cut back when it has turned yellow. The following spring Triteleia Laxa will once again reward you with an abundance of flowers.
Extra
Triteleia Laxa is a refined bulbous plant with a long flowering period during the months of June and July. The linear shaped leaves and funnel-shaped tiny flowers stand on top of its fine stems.
Triteleia is also called Brodiaea.
