Dr. A. Olly Neal Practice Partner

Since 2018

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Neal earned a degree in animal science from Alcorn State University in Mississippi before receiving his veterinary doctorate from Tuskegee University in Alabama in 2004. He practiced small animal general practice and emergency medicine in Las Vegas, Nevada before relocating to Atlanta. Dr. Neal's professional passion is small animal emergency and critical care medicine.

Dr. Neal enjoys spending time with his three children, two dogs and one cat, and is also a big college football fan. He travels back to Haywood County, Tennessee to visit friends and family whenever he can.

Dr. Emilia Hand ER/Critical Care Co-Director

Since 2019

Dr. Hand was born and raised in Texas, where she attended Texas A&M University for her undergraduate degree. She received her DVM from Auburn University in 2019 and then moved to Atlanta to join The Village Vets team. Dr. Hand's professional interests include emergency medicine and surgery.

In her free time, Dr. Hand enjoys traveling, outdoor activities (especially hiking and camping), and spending time with her family, friends, and two dogs, Josie and Gracey.

Dr. Amber Hines

Since 2020

Dr. Hines is a native of Columbus, Georgia. After completing her bachelor's degree in animal science at Tuskegee University, she went on to pursue a DVM from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 2019, Dr. Hines completed an internship at a referral and emergency hospital in Texas. She enjoys surgery, as well as emergency and critical care medicine. Her personal interests include anything artsy, sunflowers, and tacos! She especially loves spoiling her bird and three dogs!

Dr. Trey Cotton ER/Critical Care Co-Director

Since 2021

Dr. Robert "Trey" Cotton III is an Atlanta, GA native. He attended Tuskegee University, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in animal science, and in 2017 received his DVM from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. After vet school he completed a small animal rotating internship at IndyVet Emergency and Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis, IN followed by an avian/exotic specialty internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston, TX. Dr. Cotton then moved back to Atlanta to practice small animal emergency medicine and avian/exotic animal medicine. His professional interests include exotic animal medicine/surgery, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and practice leadership.  

 

Dr. Cotton and his wife Grace reside in West Midtown. In their free time, they both enjoy watching movies, spending time with their family, riding their bikes in Atlanta's parks, and trying new restaurants!  

Dr. Alexandra Morgan

Since 2020

Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Morgan went on to receive a degree in animal science from the University of Kentucky (GO CATS), where she was a member of the Wildcats volleyball squad. After earning her DVM from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019, she began a one-year internship at a veterinary referral and emergency hospital in Texas. Small animal emergency/critical care and surgery are her professional interests.

Some personal interests include spending time with her family and friends, playing and watching sports, trying new restaurants, painting, and enjoying the company of her dogs.

Dr. Deva Prather

Since 2011

Dr. Prather is originally from Orlando, Florida. She earned both her bachelor's degree and her DVM from Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation in 2003, she worked in emergency medicine for 2 years, before joining our team. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include surgery, emergency care, and working with shelter and rescue pets.

She and her husband, Donny, live in Oakhurst with their three children, Connor, Nicholas, and Katherine who all attend City Schools of Decatur. They also have two dogs, Ginger and Ashley, and one cat, Currie. In her free time, Dr. Prather enjoys spending time with her family, as well as yoga and reading.

Dr. Adam Calcutt

Since 2011

Originally from Manchester, England, Dr. Calcutt received his DVM from St. George’s University, Grenada in 2008. Following two successful years working at an animal hospital in Chicago, he and his family moved to Decatur in 2010 so that his wife Sarah could pursue her career at Emory University.

Dr. Calcutt has travelled extensively enjoying many aspects of veterinary medicine - from darting lions in Uganda, to rehabilitating orangutans in Borneo. It was during his time in Africa where he was studying Great White Sharks that he met his wife, Sarah.

His personal interests include flying, scuba diving, soccer, lazy walks with his Labradoodle Tusker, and spending quality time with his two sons, Greyson (5/10) and Heath (5/15). Dr. Calcutt especially enjoys the successes of both his “home” teams, Manchester United and, of course, Atlanta United.
