We just put out a more recent RhinoWIP. Give that a try.
That said, I doubt that will solve your problem…but best to get up-to-date.
Once you have updated, please run the SystemInfo command in Rhino proper and paste the results back in here. That might give us clues to why you are getting a blank window.

Nice. You have an old-school “cheese-grater” Mac Pro. That is a bit of an old machine. A couple of things to try:
- I see you’ve yet to update to Mojave. This might be worth doing, just to be sure.
If that does not solve the problem, I would try deleting Grasshopper’s preferences. To do this:
- Quit the RhinoWIP completely.
- Navigate to Finder > Go > Go to Folder…
- In the Go to Folder dialog, enter in the following path: ~/Library/Application Support/McNeel/Rhinoceros/6.0/Plug-ins/ and click Go.
- Find the Grasshopper folder and drag it to the Desktop (as a backup in case this does not solve the problem or you have lots of Libraries).
- Launch the RhinoWIP and run
Grasshopper…

didn’t update to mojave, I’m reticent to update till the os has been out a while on account of my aging architecture and current stability (apart from this issue).
I removed the plugin folder and restarted the WIP, everything is copacetic. I’ll now add each plugin one by one as I need them and reboot to find the culprit. I have added quite a few over time, it’s good to go back to vanilla. thank you for your help!
FWIW, we have the same Cheese Grater and we did not have any issues updating to Mojave on this machine.

I was just looking into upgrading to mojave and it seems my graphics card, the radeon 5870, is not “metal” compatible. So I am going to hold off upgrading the OS till I have a reason to upgrade my video card.
Ah yes, I forgot to mention that! We did have to update our card on the MacPro5,1 “Cheese Grater” for just this reason: Metal compatibility. We went with the AMD Radeon RX 560. We don’t use this machine for modeling however, so I don’t know how the performance would pan out, but I do know that it’s compatible.
things seem to be running ok for now, ill keep in mind the os disparity for future errors. next upgrade will likely be a better card that will support 3 screens + a vr rig, I use a PC for all of my VR and heavy rhino modeling these days but would like to have both ecosystems to work on moving forward.
