The rooms at Hotel Cidadela are absolutely stunning! They are spacious and cozy, with a beautiful view of the bay of Cascais. I felt like I was in a paradise retreat, a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The air conditioning kept the room cool and comfortable, while the TV and telephone provided entertainment and convenience. The wireless Internet access was a great bonus, allowing me to stay connected with my loved ones. I also appreciated the safe provided in the room, giving me peace of mind. The mini-bar was stocked with delicious drinks and snacks, making it easy to indulge whenever I wanted. The private facilities were clean and top-notch, and the hairdryer was a lifesaver. the room was simply perfect for my stay.
If I had to pick one thing, I would say that the radio in the room was not really my thing. But hey, that's just my personal taste and I'm sure others might enjoy it.

Furniture from the '80s.

Our room was nice and large, with plenty of space to stretch out. The breakfast buffet was excellent--enough choice that we could have something different every day. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful.
Some of the fluorescent lighting--particularly in the bathroom--needs updating. Quite dim, and often buzzing.

The room at Hotel Cidadela was amazing! The view over the bay of Cascais was absolutely breathtaking. I felt like I was in paradise, and it made my stay truly memorable. The room had everything I needed, from air conditioning to a mini bar, providing a comfortable and convenient experience.
I personally didn't like the radio in the room. It felt a bit outdated to me.

We know Cascais already so it was close to what we wanted to see/do. Pool was nice with towels provided for sunbathing although too small for just one to suffice although only allowed one. View from our 4th floor room over the ocean was beautiful
The breakfast offering was terrible. Orange watery drink that passed itself off as orange juice, thick coffee from the machine you could trot a mouse across, undrinkable. Poor offering of processed meats and cheese, set unhealthy yoghurt. Some nice bread but on the whole, pretty poor. Little area outside the bar was ok but no tealights in the lanterns and tables not cleaned and glasses not collected. Have a happy hour is buy one get one free although you do not get the free one until you buy a second drink!! Probably would not stay there again. Although we booked a double we got a twin room. Besides the lovely lady who checked us in and out the male staff were not too friendly and seldom smile.

Room was very tidy, staff did a very good job. Bathroom was superb.
The morning coffee was the worst coffee I have ever had. Very bad smell in the bedroom as you enter it. Perhaps the very heavy curtains and carpet need a cleaning.

The value for money at Hotel Cidadela was excellent, with a spacious and clean room, complete with a lovely balcony offering an ocean view. The location was convenient, just a 10-minute walk downhill to the beach, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcomed throughout our stay.
Breakfast delights, but the overcooked eggs were a small disappointment.

The room was spacious and clean with a balcony overlooking the swimming pool. The breakfast was very good ( apart from the tea/coffee ) with plenty of choice. The location was good as it was a short walk into the town centre where it was easy to get to the train or bus station. Cascais is a very pleasant place with a number of reasonable restaurants. We asked for a kettle and cups for our room and they appeared very quickly, which was nice.
A tour bus party departed at about 3 am and made a lot of noise when they were leaving. The tea/ coffee machine really was not very good and it would have been much better to have had a freshly made pot of tea or coffee for each table.

Loved the pool with a view of palm trees, felt like I was in a tropical paradise. Facilities were great, they even had a meeting room, in case I wanted to have a serious business discussion with the palm trees. The restaurant had a wide choice of dishes, just what I needed to please my demanding taste buds.
Getting the Wi-Fi signal was like searching for a needle in a haystack, but hey, who needs internet when you have palm trees, right?

The Cidadela in Cascais was a great find for our short break. It offered good value for money with its reasonable prices and included breakfast. The hotel had a pleasant garden and was situated on top of a hill, which provided a lovely view of the center of Cascais. Our room had a balcony with a view as a bonus and was clean and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed during our stay. this hotel was a great choice for our trip.
All was perfect, no improvements needed.

The hotel had a nice pool with pleasant surroundings.
The hotel was very much in need of renovation. Especially the bathroom in our room was in dire need of an upgrade. Breakfast was not too good and the breakfast area got quite filthy n the process. Tablecloths were not changed between clients. We stayed there 1 night only because we got the room for €50. Normal price was €120 which can only be classified as a ripoff!

We had a fantastic stay at Cidadela. The beds were incredibly comfy and always clean, with fresh bed linen regularly provided. The breakfast was plentiful and satisfying. Our spacious twin bed suite had a private balcony with a stunning sea view. The location in Cascais is ideal, with a convenient and enjoyable train trip to Lisbon that took only 40 minutes. We loved exploring the sights, shops, and restaurants, which offered delicious food.
Can't think of anything! 😊

This is our second time at the hotel & we would almost certainly stay there again with the 2 major plus points being the enormous outdoor pool surrounded by landscaped grounds & excellent sized room which if a tad dated oozes olde world character which I would say of the hotel in general. Cascais is an excellent holiday destination within easy reach of Lisbon especially by rail.
The 2 minus points are the hotel breakfast which was poor, rubbery croissants, poor tasting hot drinks, an antiquated toasting device though thankfully the scrambled egg, bread & rolls were good. The second down side was a very poor quality shower. This hotel could be so much better with a little investment as the basic fabric & design is excellent.
