The bottom cell is in girdle view and you can see the keel on both the upper and lower edges of the cell. The two cells on the right are in valve view and you can see the curvature of the frustule.

Notice the striations horizontally across the cell with the keeled margin (rectangular shaped indentations) on one side of the cell. also notice the rounded poles at each end of the cell.
