Description: 

Triteleia grandiflora (Lindl.), syn. Brodiaea douglasii, is a common monocot with globular straw-colored corms, grass-like leaves, and terminal blue flowers in umbrella-like clusters. 

Triteleia grandiflora grows from reticulate-fibrous, slightly ovate bulbs. These bulbs are slightly longer than they are wide, ranging from 0.9 to 2+ cm in length.

Cultural Narrative: 

Bulbs were harvested early in the spring and eaten raw or boiled and dried. There is little specific information on their preparation.
