This 1992 Volvo 740 Turbo wagon was registered with one owner in Oregon and Washington through 2018, and it features 17″ Mustang Cobra-style wheels, IPD lowering springs, Bilstein dampers, and a Momo Prototipo steering wheel. Powered by a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four mated to a four-speed automatic transmission, the car is finished in metallic silver over black upholstery, and it is also equipped with air conditioning, heated front seats, Kenwood speakers, and a Sony head unit with Apple CarPlay. It was acquired in October 2022 by the seller, who reports that work in November 2022 included overhauling the suspension and air conditioning system, resealing the engine and transmission, and replacing the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, heater core, engine and transmission mounts, fuel injectors, spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter, an oxygen sensor, and the driveshaft center support bearing. This 740 Turbo wagon shows 470k miles and is now offered at no reserve in Nevada with manufacturer’s literature, service records, two keys, a spare engine block and other parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The wagon was finished at the factory in Silver Metallic (130) and features a power-operated sunroof, tinted glass, and black trim. Dents and scratches around the body are shown in the gallery below along with corrosion on the hood, a chip in the windshield, cracks in the left taillight, and other flaws.
Installed with hub adapters, Mustang Cobra-style 17″ wheels are mounted with 235/45 Falken FK460 tires showing 2022 production date codes. The seller reports that Bilstein HD dampers and IPD lowering springs were installed during current ownership, and the tie rods, strut mounts, ball joints, and front wheel bearings were replaced.
The heated front bucket seats and the split-folding rear bench are trimmed in black upholstery accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpeting. Appointments include air conditioning, power windows and door locks, Kenwood speakers, and a Sony head unit with Apple CarPlay. The seller states that the air conditioning system was overhauled and the heater core was replaced in November 2022. Damaged upholstery and other flaws are shown below.
A Momo Prototipo steering wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 470k miles, approximately 10k of which were added by the seller.
The turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four is said to have been removed and serviced in November 2022 with a replacement timing belt, water pump, thermostat, silicone hoses, fuel injectors, spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap and rotor, mounts, and an oxygen sensor. Corrosion is noted on the battery tray. The seller reports piston slap when the engine is cold, and the exhaust system does not have a catalytic converter.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission that was resealed in November 2022 according to the seller, who notes a Hayden transmission cooler and reports that the transmission mounts and driveshaft center support bearing were also replaced after they acquired the vehicle.
A spare engine block is included in the sale along with manufacturer’s literature, service records, two keys, and other spare parts shown at the end of the gallery.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Oregon, Washington, California, and Nevada.
The car cannot pass a California emissions inspection in its current form, and as a result it cannot be sold to a private California resident.
