This Tillandsia is a colorful eye-catcher not only because of its vibrant green leaves, but also because of its bright red flower stems that grow high from the center of the plant. The beautiful leaf funnels are an ideal hiding place for frogs, geckos, spiders or small snakes. Tillandsia feels most at home when tied up, but is also suitable for pot culture as long as waterlogging is avoided at all costs.

Ben's tips on plant care:
- Habitat/Light requirements: partial shade to light, without direct midday sun
- Substrate: permeable soil, e.g. cactus soil or tied up without substrate
- Temperature: optimal at 15-28° C
- Watering: spray 3-4 times a week with lukewarm water low in lime. Water less in winter
- Humidity: needs high humidity, spray regularly (leaves should be allowed to dry afterwards!) or use humidifier or place it in the terrarium.
- Nutrient addition: in the growth period about every 4 weeks fertilize moderately with liquid fertilizer.
