Daboecia cantabrica

Daboecia cantabrica (Huds.) K. Koch (W-Eur.) – An exceptional escape from cultivation or garden throw-out (or possibly deliberately planted initially?). Collected in a heath in Keerbergen (Kruisheide) in 2012 but apparently present since several years. In 2012 the small population counted ca. 10 young shrubs and seems rather well established. A genuine naturalization and spread, however, seem rather unlikely.
