The Ministry of Foreign Affairs official spokesman, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, announced the arrival of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, to Baghdad.
“Türk arrived in Baghdad on an official four-day visit for the period from 6th to 10th of August, 2023,” said Al-Sahhaf in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
He added, “During the visit, he will meet the three presidencies, the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, and the Minister of Justice. He will visit the Kurdistan region of Iraq to meet government officials. He will also visits Basra Governorate and meet the Governor.”
