ex Savi (syn. T. violaeflorum). Similar in growth to T. hookerianum, but even more slender and with narrower leaflets. Flowers with even-sized petals and somewhat violet-like, in shades of purple-blue with a small yellow eye, winter to spring, sometimes earlier. Chile, in arid Andean foothills amongst scrub. Needs a minimum winter temperature of at least 7°C., a dry atmosphere and as much winter light as possible. Tubers must be kept warm and dry when dormant. [Pl.507]
