(Parryi). A diminutive plant. Leaves lanceolate to oblanceolate, smooth, folded slightly inwards, 2-5cm long, almost entire. Flowers pink to lilac pink with a yellow-ringed, white eye, opening flat from 7-20mm across, carried in umbels of three to ten on stems barely 1cm high and hidden within the leaves. White flowered forms occur: P.a. var. helenae is white with a yellow eye. U.S.A. in Colorado, New Mexico and Idaho, on alpine tundra usually above 3000m, often growing with Eritrichium nanum.
