Found at Straffan on the bank of the River Anna, Liffey, County Kildare in Ireland, and said to have been brought back from the Crimea in 1856. It flowers somewhat later and seems to be a glossier white than most snowdrops. Leaves glaucous, flat. Outer tepals long clawed. Outer face of inner tepals with a small neat inverted U-shaped mark. Usually has two scapes and is often so described.
