Botanical Description

Haplopappus brandegei). Tufted to small clump-forming, 8-13cm tall. Basal leaves long-stalked, spathulate to obovate or elliptic, 3-5cm long. Flowerheads solitary, to 2.5cm wide, the rich yellow rays comparatively broad, spring to autumn. Washington State and British Columbia, in the mountains. E.a. 'Canary Bird', has creamy-yellow flowerheads 3cm wide; raised by Jack Drake.
