Botanical Description

Somewhat lax cushion-forming but variable. Leaves linear to narrowly lanceolate, 3-6mm long, glandular. Flowers prominent, white to yellow, about 1cm long, narrowly tubular, but may be dilated towards the upper half and have five, clear lobes which can be rounded, truncate or even slightly emarginate. This common and widespread benthamiella incorporates former species, among them B. aurea, and ranges from Chubut and Santa Cruz in Argentina to Magellanes in Chile.
