Botanical Description

Bulbs almost globular. Leaves broadly elliptic-oblong, glaucous, up to 20cm in length. Stems to 15cm or more tall. Flowers 1- 1.5cm across varying from silvery purple-pink to purple or off-white, in hemispherical umbels to 6cm or more wide, early summer. Turkey, Russian Armenia and Iran, amongst volcanic rocks and on screes and steppes.
